Sometimes a photograph has a story to tell. This was a tall old rotten tree for many years. The top blew off, woodpeckers loved it, but it would not blow down in a winter wind storm. I began to worry about my grandchildren's safety as they played in the forest so one day I cut it down - a dangerous thing to do when a tree has little solid wood left. And indeed it fell sideways as i ran for cover, a great crash as the top half hit another tree and folded back on itself, wood dust, flying branches... but safely on the ground at last. So photograph as memory of an adrenaline rush. GREAT!!
