Just down the road and along a slippery path there is a statue lighted up at this season of the year when days are short and night comes all too soon. This day it was also foggy and it was only by boosting the iso that my digital camera was able to make any image at all just as daylight faded to black. In processing i was able to retrieve detail in shadow and reduce the brightness of the floodlit statue so as to achieve a closer balance of tonality. i also bled some of the colour to more closely approximate what my eyes actually saw. I was able to create a composition in this dark place though: division of space within the frame, the three tree trunks that march into the background, the repeating curves of the branches, the positioning of the statue.
