Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my sister in laws house in Half Moon Bay, California. She had the most succulents adorning her yard.

Time

This photo was taken right at sunset. Just before we sat down to dinner.

Lighting

There was a beautiful beam of light streaming in through the trees that seemed to highlight the succulents perfectly.

Equipment

I used my canon d5 with my canon 24mm lens, no tripod.

Inspiration

The way the succulents were highlighted in the beam of light was just too perfect. I also love all plants and flowers so I always have a need to photograph them :)

Editing

I did not use much post processing on this image. I may have bumped up the shadows a bit but I took this photo so long ago it is hard for me to remember.

In my camera bag

I have since upgraded my camera to a canon mark iii. I always make sure I have my 24mm 1.4 lens and my 50mm 1.4 lens with me in my bag.

Feedback

Never miss a chance to get out at sunset to take photos. You are sure to find something magical.
