We had been on a drive within Goa and our agenda was to avoid the normal tourist checklisted places. So we left Panjim and decided to follow the road with a random approach, taking the route what felt was best. After about 8-10 kms of such crazy turns, we reached The Penha De Franca Church - one of Goa's most loved and historic waterfront wedding venues. The phrase "Penha de Franca" means Our Lady of the Rock of France. The church was built in 1626 AD and the entire cost of construction was managed by a widow named Ana de Azavedo. It was finally awarded the status of a national monument in 1932.
