For weeks, I would check the Yosemite National Park web site for road closures. I had an insatiable desire to get the beautiful views from Glacier Point. I checked every day and Glacier Point Rd. was closed for several days, due to wildfires, up to the day before I left.

When I arrived, I expressed my disappointment of the road closure to a park ranger and he informed me Glacier Point Rd. had just re-opened. I was stoked and exclaimed, "hot damn"!

On the drive up, I stopped at Washburn Point and captured this photo, after the light was right. The shadows and highlights had just the right contrast, as the clouds forced the sun to disperse its light in interesting ways.
