Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Marguza, near the Sahara desert in Morocco.

Time

This photo, one of my favorite was taken during sunset while lying on the hot sandhills using them as my own tripod for my body - aiming to the horizon with sunset and then the camel raw appears.

Lighting

Always during the golden hour it's the best time to take photos but sometimes in the last minute of the sun that closing the day you can get a very unique light with excellent shadows...

Equipment

I'm using Nikon D810 with a great Sigma zoom lens of 70-200 2.8. Since the time is with low light I use a tripod as well.

Inspiration

End of the day when all people coming back from their work - in the Sahara desert - it's the camels' guys who taking their camels back after a long day and when it's coming with the sunset it makes it even more perfect.

Editing

When shooting pictures with high contrast environment I think it's important to pre-process the picture highlight shadows and darken the highlight in order to improve the details in the pictures. In this picture, I add also a graduate filter to emphasize the sky and wonderful colors of the sunset.

In my camera bag

Most of the time I carry my camera with no more than two additional lenses depend on what I plan to take pictures. Sometimes when low-light I carry my tripod as well.

Feedback

Keep always your eyes open and search for opportunities to make extra-ordinary pictures, sometimes it's near...
