The Canadian National Railway ran across Canada, carrying ordinary folk, but also dignitaries through the wilds of Canada, stopping at beautifully situated hotels along the way. Highland Inn, on the shores of Cache Lake in Algonquin Park, was one of those. The Inn was destroyed in the mid-1950s, but part of the track remains.
