Yes, I have been to this sculpture park. I took multiple angles of this shot, but none of them turned out as good as this one. Well done.

Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on a visit to a sculpture park love the symmetry in this photo and the way the light reflects of the stones, I am a self taught photographer every photo a journey of possibilities.

Time

Last minute trip always take my camera, mid afternoon outing with my family no tripod free hand, crouched down to get a different view of the wires intertwining wrapped around the stones.

Lighting

I was walking past many sculptures looking for something truly unique and was mesmerized by this sculpture and the way the light reflected so beautifully on structure. I moved around to get the lighting right that focused not only the stones but showed the iridescent beams created by the wires.

Equipment

Shot on a Canon 600d using a 50mm prime lens no other equipment used.

Inspiration

Didn't go to the sculpture park looking for a particular shot, I live in the moment some of your best shots can come this way. I was waiting for that feeling of wow and stumbled across this magnificent piece of art and the symmetry with the reflections and the suspension of the stones made this a very interesting shot finding the right angle was the key.

Editing

Lightroom to adjust white balance and added a little contrast,I Always shoot in raw and process with as little post processing as possible. Keeping the photo as authentic as possible.

In my camera bag

Recently have upgraded to a canon eos r mirrorless camera which I love so much and the improvement in my shots is unbelievable, Never go anywhere without my sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens love love love this lens the landscape pictures always have great depth and composition is so easy with this lens. Canon 50mm prime lens great all rounder and versatile when carrying light and last but not least my Canon L lens 70- 200mm zoom lens another versatile lens great for bird shots, weddings and action shots have even tried some astro photography recently with it. I do carry a Inca tripod that does the trick when doing sunset/sunrise shots. All this fits into my very stylish Kelly Moore Camera Bag that looks like a over-sized handbag that I recently got for Christmas from my children that thought it was time to upgrade as not everything fits in my tiny canon camera bag anymore.

Feedback

As this is a unique sculpture I would say when trying to capture a similar image shot around late afternoon or early morning so you get the best of the light. Think of composition and the best angle to shot don't rush your shot, look for leading lines if possible. Always shot in raw to get the most out of your picture in post processing. Most of all be proud of the shot you take and live in the moment. Happy shooting:)
