Behind The Lens

Location

Ocean Beach, San Francisco. (I think I actually tagged this as Pacific Beach, but I think that's in LA)

Time

Sunset! ;)

Lighting

To keep the shadows I shot in manual mode, and underexposed a couple stops, which also really let the sunset colours come through.

Equipment

Olympus PEN-F with a M.Zuiko Digital 17mm F1.8 lens, handheld.

Inspiration

It was my first time to San Francisco, and I was with my partner and her family. We happened to be at the beach near sunset, so it really just worked out. Nothing like a west coast sunset.

Editing

This was straight from the camera!

In my camera bag

I like to travel light, which is what makes the PEN-F so great. I have the 17mm F1.8 and 45mm F1.8 lenses, and the little flash that comes with the camera. And an extra battery.

Feedback

Take lots of photos and play with exposure. If you have an exposure compensation dial, go down 1 or 2 stops to start, you'll probably have to adjust as the sun goes down and the light goes.
