Behind The Lens

Location

In the trafic jam between Cartago and San José. Classic Range Rover windscreen.

Time

LR says it was round 7pm, I think that must be right. a couple and I had visited friends and were going back. I had a new toy (old manual Nikkor) and it was a good opportunity ti use it.

Lighting

Obviously it was provided by the taillamps. Fortunately, old Range Rovers don't have all the annoying playstation features of modern cars so there were zero interior reflections.

Equipment

D4, old manual 28 f2 from 1971.

Inspiration

Being in teh traffic jam and musing about bokeh accompanied by Sonora Dinamita was good enough to get me inspired. I kept about 20 of these shots.

Editing

Cropped a tiny bit right and bottom.

In my camera bag

Too much :) Seriously, it is the D4 or the D800 and lenses depending on teh situation. so for low light I now have a 24-35 which is lovely for night shots, also a 85mm, a vintage 55 1.2 and a 180 2.8 macro lens which is quite useful in low light.

Feedback

You can do this in the traffic jam when somebody else is drving. Or in the bus, train or other public transport, only now here in Luxembourg everything seem to have horrible stripes.
