Some people, especially city-slickers and wannabe city-slickers, look at this and say it is boring and ugly. It is just dirt and some hick farm. I look at it and immediately think of peace, of a time gone by, of a history, a heritage, an environment that is disappearing in Southern California. And visually, I look at it and see the the interplay between light and the myriad of colors.

While I know some development, growth and "progress," is good, especially if it provides affordable homes and jobs in Southern California which is lacking both, I pray communities are smart and respect their rural heritage, economy, culture, and the peace and beauty that comes with it, enough to want to preserve some of it.
