I blended a white layer on top of the original photo to hide the hills in the upper right corner and continued the fog from the left side of the scene dodging and burning in Photoshop. I also purposely overexposed the image.

The Peter Iredale was built in Maryport, England during 1890 and was named after the owner of the vessel. The crew of 25 along with 2 stowaways made their planned voyage from Salina Cruz, Mexico to Portland, Oregon only to never reach their destination. The incredibly powerful coastal winds were the cause of the shipwreck in 1906, stopping the crew a few miles short of the Columbia River's mouth. Efforts were made to salvage the ship but weeks of unsuitable conditions anchored the ship within a bed of sand. I love how unique of a wonder of the Oregon coast the Iredale is. Please don't forget climbing, standing on, removing pieces of this shipwreck and any other point of interest will only destroy the opportunity for those in the future to view them.
