love this shot! the lighting is amazing! was it taken during the evening? I like the rule of thirds although I might have liked to se more of the background on the left hand side. Awesome shot and congrats!

Behind The Lens

Location

Straumsvík in Iceland close to Hafnarfjörður

Time

Around 3 PM on 28/12 2013 driving around with my wife

Lighting

Just a nice almost clear winterday

Equipment

CameraCanon EOS 5D Mark III Focal Length 24mm Canon 24-70II Shutter Speed1/350 s Aperture f/3.5 ISO/Film100 No tripod

Inspiration

I always bring my camera with me in case I see something worth photographing, and on a day like this it was a sure thing to happen

Editing

Yes, the usual raw converting with clarity, vibrance and sharpening and the soft light layer about 30% and then a B/W layer with adjusted blue (darken) and about 30% opacity

In my camera bag

When I am not going on a special photo shoot trip I carry 5DMIII + 24-70II with me, When going for landscape photography or shooting the northern lights I carry 70-200F4IS, Samyang 14mm 2,8 and 24-70II. When shooting model/fashion or fine art nude in the nature I carry 135/2 instead of the Samyang, same goes for the studio

Feedback

Well, always carry the camera with you and of course knowing how your camera measures the available light, as in using manual and knowing when to stop up or down to get the best results. Some thing can't be taught like having the eye for the frame, so I guess it is up to practice and more practice
