Location
This was a collaborate shot with 2 models, 1 from Iceland and 1 from the UKTime
It is taken late in the day around 5PM in March 2019Lighting
The lighting was very tough because the models were partly backlit and because the was very high wind and very cold I could not use any additional lighting equipment, I was alone with them and we had to shoot very fastEquipment
Canon 5DM IV and 16-35III, no other equipmentInspiration
The surroundings first and foremost and the dresses they hadEditing
Well, it is not a recent photo so I do not remember exactly what I did but yes there is a lot of post processing involving layers to improve the lighting, as in darkening the background vs lighting up the models but having a high quality camera allowed me to do that instead of artificial light. In my camera bag
Canon EOS-R and 5DM IV cameras, Canon 16-35III, 24-70II, 100-400II, Sigma 40mm 1,4 Art and 14mm 1,8 Art lenses Canon SB600 flash and Kase Wolferine filter set for long exposure etc. Then I am also using Equipment from Pro Media Gear, Ball head from Acratech and Sirui R-5214X tripodFeedback
Get a professional model and go for it, but with photography under extreme conditions like this the key factor is knowing your camera and what you can do afterwards in post production especially if you are alone shooting and can't use additional light source, which I prefer to do if I can avoid it, natural light is always the bast way to go.
