This wet red cedar log was interesting but by making two images by turning the camera and then in-camera combining a double exposure i got something a little different. This would count as pre-visualisation, - seeing in my minds eye first and then making the image using the camera.

Loved the originality of using double exposure on tree bark as the subject and the resulting colours and lines are just beautiful! Congrats

Behind The Lens

Location

Saltspring Island, BC.Canada

Time

Morning

Lighting

Wet cloudy day, filtered light

Equipment

Nikon 3200, kit zoom lens. keeping it simple technically

Inspiration

The red colour of the wood, the wetness, the flash of an idea to treat the image by turning the camera from side to side in two consecutive shots.

Editing

In camera processing to combine the two images as one plaid version. I also usually do post processing to produce the best image.

In my camera bag

In this case just my camera which always has a polarising filter.

Feedback

The world is filled with possibilities, trick photos like this abound, but what makes this work so well is not the trick but the vision of the photographer. The image shoots higher than its technical components alone.
