Location
This is a composite image of 2 historic waterfalls along the Eagle Creek Trail within the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Recently a forest fire was ignited by some young kids that set ablaze a large portion of the Gorge as we know it. The trail to these falls and many others have been scorched and will never look the same in my lifetime.Time
The photos were taken early in the morning during the golden hour.Lighting
The sky was fire as the sun pressed against the low clouds.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D5500 with the Nikon 18-55. Since this photo I've made the switch to mirrorless & carry the Sony a7rii with the grandmaster 16-35mm and grandmaster 85mm with Breakthrough Photography filters.Inspiration
This is one of my favorite trails in the Gorge. Any chance I get, I go shoot this place. It's been closed now for the last couple years due to a terrible forest fire. There are still no plans on re-opening.Editing
Post processing was done through Lightroom 1st. It was then blended in an app. as a composite. These 2 falls are actually about 1mile apart. In my camera bag
Filters, always have to have the right ND filters for specific exposures.Feedback
Get up early and beat the crowds. Spend more time finding the right spot to shoot from than the actual snapping of the photo.
