Overlooking the valley is Mount Maxwell, a massive chunk of marine conglomerate, large pieces of which fell to the slopes below during the last major earthquake experienced some three hundred years ago. So, those holes in the cliff face are a natural phenomenon, not nesting holes pecked by rock doves.:)
