Behind The Lens

Location

This was captured in a park I pass by daily while on route to work, a challenging outdoor macro shot.

Time

It was a little before 8 in the morning, the park is usually quiet this time during the week, allowing me to fully explore the nature surrounding and find a perfect subject to capture in my camera.

Lighting

The challenge about lighting during shooting was being outdoor and not in a studio setup, there could be subtle movement ample to blur a macro photo, an additional light source from a reflector provided adequate lumination for a shutter speed fast enough for a sharp and balance lighted image.

Equipment

Shot with the Nikon D600 with the AF-S 105mm VR lens on tripod, the reflector (or could be a flash/equivalent) is imperative.

Inspiration

I've always enjoy macro photography especially floral, it's like scenery of miniature world with so much to be discovered, very likely abstract, and each has its own story to tell, just like this one.

Editing

Almost none, only minor adjustments to ensure nothing goes beyond the extreme/limits.

In my camera bag

My only camera body is the Nikon D600, and accompanying that will depend on the type of photos to be taken, in most cases: General & landscapes: Nikkor AF-S 16-35mm F4 | ND filters | Remote shutter release | Tripod | lens cleaning tools Wildlife/Macro: Nikkor AF-S 200-500 F5.6 | Nikkor AF-S 105mm F2.8 | Tripod | Reflector/stand | Flash

Feedback

Let your imagination goes wild with what you see, and a story begins. Very soon one will find the subject/scene/moment to capture, and always remember, be prepared so it's crucial to gear up accordingly and well plan in advance.
