It was at a the last act of the evening.Lighting
The light behind Nadine’s head was a wall light, in the auditorium, on the other side of the stage. I was able to position myself so it produced a back light.Equipment
I used Canon 5D mk IV with 70-200 f/2.8 L, no flash (not allowed for live music) hand held.Inspiration
I love live music and wanted to capture Nadine’s passion for singing.Editing
I always shoot RAW, especially for gig photography because it’s almost impossible to get the colour balance and exposure, because of the changing light. All I did for this shot was a little exposure and removed a little red from the image.In my camera bag
I have Canon kit, normally a Canon 5D mk IV body, Canon 1Dx body, Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS L, Canon x2 and Canon AI flash.Feedback
Anticipating the artist, shoot shutter priority at 1/160-1/250th and understand you will probably have to us 16400-32800 ISO.
