This photo was taken in my flat in London, during a moment of restlessness on an incredibly warm day.Time
Taken late afternoon at around 5 pm, which was the hottest part of the day, when the sun shines directly through my windows, making it even hotter, hence the vest!Lighting
I have two decent sized windows which face the setting sun over London, creating some great natural light opportunities which in times of boredom have me reaching for the camera.Equipment
My trusty Fujifilm X-T2 sitting atop a Manfrotto tripod. To check composition, I used Fujifilms remote app on the iPhone, which is incredibly useful for these type of situations.Inspiration
I love the idea of portrait photography because I find photos of people are infinitely more interesting than most. However, I rarely get the opportunity to photograph people outside of the candid street photography situation, which means I am partial to a self-portrait from time to time.Editing
I have a few 'go to' camera raw presets I've developed over the years which I use when processing 90% of my photos. Other than that a few tweaks in Photoshop and boom! Total processing time was about 1 minute. In my camera bag
In my bag, you will find a Fujifilm X-T2 with battery grip, 16-55mm 2,8, 10-24mm and 35mm 1.4 lenses along with the usual spare batteries and photography bits and bobs.Feedback
The key to this photos is the side light and the silly expression with the eye taking centre stage. Simply have fun and take a lot of exposures.
