Hi all. I am not trying to be a prophet of doom but this is the Ring Nebula in Lyra, and this is what we believe the Sun will end up like! Don't panic, you have four and a half billion years to go yet so please finish reading this first!! A star with the Suns mass will end up as what we call a planetary nebula like this one. If you look you can see the central star that has ejected it's outer gas shell like our Sun will. I hope you enjoy the picture and my explanation has not upset anyone, I wanted to explain what the photo was!
