This i thought, would be a failed photograph even as i was attracted to the dappled light. I expected too great a range between lights and darks, and besides there was no obvious subject or point to this image. Just goes to show how difficult it can be once one strays from the usual compositional guidelines to predict the final two dimensional results. Of course i used Lightroom to even things up, to calm down the lights and bring detail out of the shadows. Like the photographers of the past, the darkroom-lightroom stuff is part of the process of getting to the final image.
