I just let nature do its thing. Shooting here at low tide is beautiful because the wet sand offers great reflections of the sunset colors and the pier itself.Equipment

I love this spot because it is photogenic all year. But especially in the winter when the sun sets right behind the pier.Editing

Sometimes great sunsets happen when you least expect. I always strive for partially cloudy skies. And it's always a good idea to wait past when the sun dips below the horizon. A lot of people pack up and leave, missing the light show that happens about 20-30 minutes after the sun has set. Finally, when shooting sunsets or sunrises, find interesting foreground subjects that lead your eye to the horizon.
