A stop off along a 9 hour drive home after a photo shoot. Absolutely exhausted I could not resist but jump out of my car and continue shooting. I guess this was part of a scheduled burn, but in the late evening light, the smoke was lit up, itself looking alight. A rare image. I jumped back in my car to continue driving and then turned around thinking, how often could I ever get a shot like this, with the Grampians in the distance. As soon as I arrived back, only 10 minutes later, the light and the smoke had faded and were gone.
