This was supposed to be a capture of the Geminid meteor shower from December 2015 at Augerberry Point in Death Valley. Sometimes things don't go according to plan despite all the planning and preparation. Our guide, David Kingham, gave us the option to sleep in or meet at 2 am and make the long drive to Augerberry--we opted to make the drive. Despite the clouds, super cold wind, and freezing temps, we set up our cameras on the point and kept warm in David's van. Even though the clouds rolled in, I was able to get a shot of some stars.
