When i built the tea house on the ridge behind our house it was to remember some Japanese international students of ours who performed a tea ceremony there many years ago. The structure ended up being my own invention, somewhere between tea house and Shinto temple and my roof end carvings more West Coast First Nations than any thing specifically Japanese. Here is the moon carving; in cedar and white paint. This is also my own invention and does not copy any idea belonging to others.
