Location
This is a ceiling at the Brooklyn Museum in NYC. The photo was taken in color, but the pattern is all B&WTime
This is a glass ceiling. It was backlit by the sky, which was overcast that day. The time was late morningLighting

I used a Canon 70D with a 28-105mm lens at f/7.1?ISO 125?Shutter 1/125?Focal Length 30/1Inspiration
My feet hurt. After several hours of walking & photographing displays in the museum, I sat on a bench and leaned against the wall. When I opened my eyes again, I was looking up at the ceiling, and just mesmerized by the pattern. It took several minutes before I realized that there was a photo there.Editing
Post included somoe cropping and an increase on contrast to bring out the pattern. In my camera bag
I normally carry 2 Canon bodies: 70D with a 28-105mm lens and a T3i with a 18-135mm lens. I also carry a 50mm f/1.4 prime, a 70-300mm and a 60mm macro. In addition, I have a set of ND screw on filters and a Canon 600 EX II flash with reflector cards and diffusers.Feedback
Keep your eyes open. Don't get so locked on your subject that you miss other good pictures. Take more pictures than you think you need, and change it up. Change setting, change positions, watch for changes in lighting.
