You have given 2020 a positive swing that is really (nice) positive, a contribution to the Year 2020 Collection. As always, the competition will be tough, which, as an added consequence, makes a possible victory taste very sweet. Good luck and probably for the … time: Happy New Year and stay healthy in 2021!

Behind The Lens

Location
After fishing on the beach until near sunset, I decided to cross the island to the bay side for some sunset photos. There was a flock of swans, which I photographed for 30 minutes. Before I left, I looked for additional subjects. There were two small boats that had beached in a recent storm. I took 6 photos as the sun set.
Time
I took 6 photos as the sun set. I wanted sunset photos but did not expect to find the beached sailboat.
Lighting
The sunlight was coming straight across the bay. I had to move slightly north to avoid glare. I didn't have time to try for a silhouette before the light changed.
Equipment
I use a Canon 70D with a canon 28-105mm f/2.8. I was handheld because I had been shooting wildlife.
Inspiration
All of the photos that day were spur of the moment. I had been fishing, but always have a camera with me. The light was spectacular.
Editing
The only pp on this photo was cropping. Sometimes you get it just right in the camera.
In my camera bag
In addition to the Canon 70D w/ 28-105mm f/2.8, I have a 70-300mm f/1.4 and a 60mm macro, and a canon 600 EX II flash. . I also have an assortment of star filters, cpl filter, along with ND filters. None were used on this shoot. I routinely carry a small Nikon point and shoot.
Feedback
I have 2 important rules. 1)Always have a camera with you, look around for the unexpected. 2) Take more pictures than you think you need, and move around, in both the horizontal and vertical plane. You are not paying for film, so shoot a lot. Don't be afraid to experiment.
