Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture on the side of the road in Union Lake, MI.

Time

It was midday, around 5 p.m.

Lighting

There was an overcast of clouds just before a downpour of rain.

Equipment

I had a Canon T2i and a crystal ball I had recently purchased.

Inspiration

I had recently bought the crystal orb and was experimenting with it in Costco, to see what I was working with. We checked out and headed back home. As we were driving, I couldn't hold it in much longer, so I pulled the car over, and I took a picture of the most interesting thing I could find. This was my first shot with the crystal orb.

Editing

I did. Looking at it in Lightroom, it was a bit blue, so I went with it. Contrasting the darks, lights, and giving it life.

In my camera bag

Props, memory cards, different lens, cleaning supplies, charger, and flash.

Feedback

My first bit of advice would be to experiment. A LOT. If you decide to try these types of pictures with the crystal orb, first step: Buy one! It's endless fun, although it may take some time to get used to, the limits are endless!
