Very beautiful! I love the colors of the water - very green and yellow and paints an almost dreamlike picture. Great shot!

It was amazing the colors of the water that you could experience depending on the time of day and cloud cover.

Location
I took the photo at the North end of Zanzibar Island on the Indian Ocean in a resort area near Nungwi. My family and I just finished a photo safari in Tanzania, East Africa. All my life I heard of this area as Spice Islands. So since we just finished a trip of a life time I decided to add to the life time trip by booking a rest trip to exotic Zanzibar. What an experience. I am an amateur photographer and enjoy travel photography. I will see a photo in a magazine or on TV and I want to go take that photo not knowing where in the world a certain place may be.Time
I did not change my cameras date and time settings so based on time differences from Zanzibar and my home state the time was around 12:30 p.m. local time or so. As you can tell it was looking pretty stormy but, it never happened. However, the possible event made for some excellent photo opportunities and wow moments. The age of digital photography comes through in moments like this. You do not have to wait to see what the photo will look like as a person had to wait in film photography.Lighting
It was some what cloudy dark. But, did not have to do anything special. I just pointed the camera and shot the photo.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 18-250mm lens. The focal length of the photo is 62mm at f5.6. No filters, tripod or other accessories to get the shot. Just the right time at the right moment situation.Inspiration
No true inspiration per se. I liked the cloud cover, calm waters and the boatman trying to get home before the possible storm.Editing
I shoot JPEG and the only thing I did post-processing is to delete any haze that my be in the photo. This photo was not altered. In my camera bag
Of course the D7000 with the Sigma 18-250mm lens that is my mainstay. Then I have a Nikon D50 with a Sigma 150-500mm lens. Extra batteries, charger for both cameras, ND filter, polarizer filter, several SD cards, a mini tripod, small bean bag and cleaning supplies. Also, I take a Phottix electronic shutter release. This package is the basics for airline travel for me. Then for ground travel I have the above equipment plus a Nikon Coolpix 5700, a Nikkor 85mm Micro lens. Then a Nikkor 18-55mm lens, a Nikkor 70-300mm lens and a Tokina 11-16mm lens and a Nikon Speedlight SB-600 flash. In the mix I will also take my tripod or the Manfrotto monopod. Depending on the destination in my airline travels I will adjust what lens I take. For example this November my family and I will be going to Costa Rica so I will be taking my Micro lens in addition to the 250 and 500 mm lens.Feedback
As previously mentioned this specific photo was the right time and right place situation. So have a lens that can capture a wide view or bring in a distance object of interest and hope for the best in capturing the moment. A person may get more than they saw.
