Living in Zambia as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer, I was often invited to cultural ceremonies in my remote village. This particular ceremony is known as Nyau Dancing. Wearing a mask of guinea fowl feathers, the dancer represents the true spirit of authentic culture in Zambia. I learned many skills in Zambia, but photography was by far the one I became most passionate about. This was the first time I ever pictured a photograph in my head, and sat waiting for an opportunity to snap it.
