This lady was quite waiting outside the small Rama temple in Janakpur as the sun was just rising. The covered platform she was resting on, known as a "mandapam"
is a peripheral shelter surrounding temples where pilgrims may leave their possessions and even sleep while visiting a shrine or temple. A bundle of her clothes and a stainless steel round box with trays called a "tiffin" can be see in the background. She is wearing coloured glass bandless and has a few tattoos of religious symbols. She is likely from the Maithili enthic community of southeastern Nepal. Recognisable by their very dark complexions.
