This poor woman was sitting on the side of the entrance to the Howrah railway station in Kolkata. I generally refrain from photographing people in distressful circumstances, but the look in her eyes transfixed me. I used a longer 210mm lens so as to not distrub her or appear threatening, and got down on the street for the right perspective. I find being below eye level with my subject renders more interesting captures while appearing less intrusive to the subject. She appeared to suffer from emotional or mental issues and likely had no place to go. I would venture her entire possessions were the two bundles in cloth sacks and the plastic water bottle.

Thanks .Mercedes's..I respect your thoughts and feelings. Really India is facing many challenges including starving , and home needs for these people. Our economy is trying to resolve all these issues to wind up completely. But these developments.can't be seen in 1-2 yrs. This. Will take time get clear all these things. But I feel this the responsibilities of every citizen of India to take part in development and show the beauty not the scarcity..
