Here is one high vantage point of one valley in the north side of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It was late spring and soon all that is green will be brown. The west side of North Dakota is what's known as the badlands. It is mostly rock formations, but there are some flat lands at the bottom of these canyons, but it is rough terrain never the less. I guess that is why Roosevelt was considered a rough rider. Teddy's log cabin still sits in this park, and where he hunted in his days.
