Winter's clear cold light shows the coast of our local harbour. Of the subject matter we might say "Uh Huh" and pass it by. What i am saying in this image however, is that the unspectacular has a value, as do plain people, the street, the home etc. Our ordinary lives are important and can be depicted in unspectacular, honest, carefully imagined images. Diagonals, the wedge shaped wooded coastline that leads to the white mountain in the far distance, the simplicity and clarity of all the parts are like a piece of music, they ring, they chime. They bring us to the real world in all its unspectacular splendor.
