While hiking the 12 miles around Timothy Lake, I happened to arrive at the edge of a little cove, just in time to catch the angled setting sun against Mt Hood in Oregon. The summer heat had melted away most of the snow from the mountain, adding contrast to the mountain's crevices and slopes.
