Many of my images are made simply to communicate, often as part of a set to accompany a written article. Most published photos fit into this category. Here is a sandstone boulder, still showing the ripples from its making millions of years ago. It sits on tilted layers of shale that are also scattered with other kinds of rock left from the last glaciation. The photo shows all this and places the beach in context with the larger scene and the hiking group that i am with. All ideas about making a good image apply, this is not a random snapshot..
