Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Arcisate, Italy.

Time

It was early in the morning, around 7:30.

Lighting

The sun was still low and a little cloudy.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark III with EF 50mm f/1.2L hands free.

Inspiration

We boked a trip with this balloon and I just wanted to make a little reportage about the blow up procedure.

Editing

I have cutted the image in order to have the man in the left third line. This helps to show how big the balloon really is and the image is well balanced. Other adjustments such as contrast, temperature and saturation where also quite important.

In my camera bag

I always have the Canon 5D Mark III, 18-35 mm f/2.5 L, 50 mm f/1.2 L, 70-200 mm f/2.5 L, tripod, ND, GND and polarize filters, remote shutter.

Feedback

If the shooting is improvised, try to predict whats happening as next in order to be ready. Shoot more images with different settings and move a little between them. From far, from close, lay on the ground, from above… Doing so you will have a lot different images and the reportage will not be boring.
