Dear Daisy: I am glad that I captured the moment, it was indeed exotic from costumes to beauty and grace of dancers. So glad I could be there, it made my heart beat faster...ha, ha!

Dear Amanda: Thanks for comment/question. Apsara dancers wear formal clothing that would be seen in the royal court. Of interest, in 1975 there were about 2,000 girls trained in classical Khmer dance, a tyrant by name of Pol Pot came to power with an idea to wipe clean modern life in Cambodia. All but a handful of the dancers perished in a genocide that killed about 2 million people who are buried in 344 mass graves around Cambodia. It is one of the saddest chapters in human history.

The Cambodian people didn't stand a chance. Those who wore glasses, were doctors, nurses, dancers, lawyers, police, soldiers, or teachers were marked for killing because they were educated people. Further, it was a death sentence for their families, as well. Monster, absolutely!
