Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photograph at a restaurant on the Balito Bay Waterfront in Eastern Cape, South Africa.Time
It was lunchtime and a local street band came through the waterfront playing a variety of tunes.Lighting
The sun was at it's peak which gave a beautiful reflection off of the saxophones brass finish.Equipment
I used my Canon Powershot S200 point-and-shoot camera.Inspiration
The music was so beautiful and brought joy to the whole waterfront. The instruments looked stunning in the mid-day lighting so I was compelled to try and capture the magic of the moment. I took several distanced photographs and then decided to try focusing on just the instrument and the muscians hands. This was the wonderful result.Editing
I did minimal post-processing on this image. I touched up the lighting to emphasize the brass colour of the saxophone and increased the contrast to improve the effect. In my camera bag
I always have my little Canon Powershot on my person, either in my bag or strapped to my belt. This way I can capture any spontaneous moment without too much scrabbling to set up or find the right lens.Feedback
