Thanks for the wonderful comments. All the conditions were right for this shot - no traffic, the right light, and the color of the trees.

Hi Joy. This is in the northwest part of Michigan's Lower Penninsula. The road is Michigan highway M-119 which runs from the town of Harbor Springs to the village of Cross.

Location
This photo was taken on Michigan, USA, highway M-119 also known as "The Tunnel of Trees". It was taken in late October on a fall color trip.Time
It was the middle of the day somewhere between 10 AM and 3 PM.Lighting
It was quite sunny however being under the cover of trees made for a wonderful soft light to the scene.Equipment
I use a Nikon D3300 with Sigma 18-300 mm lens.Inspiration
We were in a color trip to the northern lower penninsula of Michigan and M-119 was on our list of places to see. The leaf color on much of the road was not very brilliant since it had been a relatively warm fall but this area had nice fall leaf colors. The winding of the road through this area also made for a great photo opportunity.Editing
In general I do not do much post-processing. I try to get it correct at the time of the shot. I may crop for sizing or composition and occasionally adjust for contrast. This photo not edited. In my camera bag
My camera bag carries a Nikon D3300, Sigma 18-300m lens, a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm lens, and a Vanguard Alta PRO 263AT tripod with a pan head.Feedback
Look behind you. We drove this road up and back and this view was entirely different (and not as beautiful) from the other direction.
