Mt. Kirkjufell (Church mountain) is a 463m high mountain on the north coast of Iceland's Snæfellsnes peninsula, near the town of Grundarfjörður. Grundarfjörður's beautiful landmark is the most photographed mountain in Iceland. Its isolated position jutting out into the sea makes it a focal point for tourists and seamen alike. I was able to arrive in this location towards the end of the day. The sky started to clear after a mostly rainy day and I setup to take the shot. I would love to spend more time here and explore more of the area on the next trip.
