Sudbury, Ontario. A Canadian town known for it's nickel, mining industry and foremost it's lunar bare landscapes. The lunar landscape is gone because of collective efforts but the patchwork of levels of impact is still present. Some regions having only small birch trees and blueberry bushes, others flourishing much more where the land was less impacted by mining. This picture was taken in Sudbury in a moderately impacted area on Christmas Eve. I stopped at the creek and took this picture with an exterior flash and coloured gel. The dramatic sky looking a bit like Mordor created by the lights of the city contrast with the cold tint of the grass and the nature that lives here.
