Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on edge of Odra river in my hometown of Szczecin, Poland

Time

It was around 3PM on a cold day, I just returned from another photo shoot in the forest, where I was looking for more winter photos when the sun came out of the clouds, creating perfect conditions, and it also didn't last for long, maybe 30 minutes before a storm came in.

Lighting

It was pure luck with light, clear winter air, with the sun coming out from behind the clouds adding this nice fresh touch to everything. Also, clouds thanks to the backlight, and their fluffy appearance created a great view.

Equipment

It was shot with Nikon D7100 and tele lens with a polarizing filter.

Inspiration

I was coming back from another shoot when sun came out and light up the covered port cranes. I decided it was the best moment to take photos, especially as the renovation was supposed to end soon and there wouldn't be another occasion to make this photo. For me, the cranes look a lot like Michelin Man.

Editing

Yes, not too much as the conditions were perfect, slight adjustments in lightroom.

In my camera bag

Always my D7100 camera, recently I often pair it with a Nikkor 35mm 1.8f lens, as backup depending on a photoshoot I'm doing is either a Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro or a Nikkor 55-300mm f4.5 tele.

Feedback

Stop if something catches your eye, it's my favorite view in the city, and I photograph it often, but it still can create unique experience if I stop when the light is just right.
