This smiling lady is of the Apa Tani tribe in Arunachal Pradesh. She was confident and delighted in seeing her photo on the life view.
She needed no coaching in posing for her portrait. Upon receiving a small fee for her modelling work, she took the money over to her husband and handed it to him, and then disappeared into their bamboo and concrete home in the background.
