Location
In Pendleton, SC at the old oil mill.Time
Midday on an overcast day.Lighting
It was an overcast day so the light was diffused and ambient. It was a cool light so I felt like it lended to the mood of the image.Equipment
I ised my trusty Pentax K30 with a Sigma 16-50mm 2.8 lens.Inspiration
I'm really into history and symmetry in images. I xomposed with those ideas in mind.Editing
I sharpened it a bit as it was hand-held and bumped up the saturation of the blues a bit. I kept it simple because the colors and lines spoke for themselves. In my camera bag
Two camera bodies, both Pentax K30's. A hotshoe flash for filling in shadows on the occasion, many filters like a polarizer, neutral ND filters and some black and white filters. I usually stick with my favorite Sigma lens for everything but there are some Pentax primes in the bag. Can't beat a good prime!Feedback
Plan ahead for the weather and lighting and always be aware of the changes thwy could possibly make. Environmental awareness is what I call it.
