This photo was taken on a busy dual carriageway at Sighthill in Edinburgh.
Time
Taken around 6 or 7pm on a wet, autumn night in early November.
Lighting
The lights are from the cars on the left hand side of the photo. I liked that the right and left contrast with the amount of light. I loved how the car lights lit up the trees and how the street lamps helped to illuminate the dark side and the reflections on the pavement.
Equipment
No flash or tripod used. Hand held with my Canon Powershot.
Inspiration
I was looking back to see if a bus was coming and I couldn't resist the shot. Initially, I wasn't happy about the cars, but when I returned home and viewed the image on the big screen, it worked out well!
Editing
I did add a little contrast and a little saturation to this image.
In my camera bag
Only extra batteries and another small camera.
Feedback
Always look at your surroundings in all directions. If you think there's a photo, there usually is! Always take a punt at a shot that may seem difficult. You may just get a great result.
