This photo was taken while on a two week excursion to Antarctica in November of 2016 with National Geographic. The actual area we were visiting was called Cierve Cove. We were riding around in Zodiacs in this cove and since the water was extremely calm and clear on this particular day, we were treated to these wonderful reflections in the water. It was simply amazing!Time

Well, it is what it is...or it was what it was, I should say. When traveling with an organization, you can't always pick the best time of day for your photos.Equipment
Hand-held camera (can't use a tripod in a zodiac on water) Camera: Canon EOS 6 D. Lens: EF28-300mm f3.5-5.6L IS USM. Settings: ISO 100 28mm. f3.5. 1/3000Inspiration
The REFLECTIONS!!! The reflections were everywhere this day because of such clear, calm water! No breeze, just a beautiful day. Actually, Antarctica has an endless bounty of inpspiring photo opportunities everywhere you turn. Thousands of photos taken!!!Editing
Very little post-processing (i.e. only for exposure, lighting and highlights, contrast.) No filters used.In my camera bag
Always my Canon 6 D with a couple of lenses (24-70mm and a 100-400mm) and a circular polarizing filter. Lens wipes. Also, for this trip, I had extra batteries (due to the cold) and a dry bag to carry my camera off the ship.Feedback
No, I was just in the right place at the right time. I would also recommend that people read up on how to take your best photos of ice before heading to Antarctica.
