Your photos are fantastic. Especially this one. My only critique is, the logo you put on most of your work seems to distract from the image. Just my opinion, but my eye keeps going to the squares. instead of to the beauty of your work. Maybe tone it down somewhat, if you have to have it on the images.

Thanks Charles. I agree. On my newer photos I've been leaving the logo off or using a smaller one. Thanks for the feedback!

Golden hour.Lighting
I was looking for a good place to shoot while the sun was setting when I noticed a lot of birds hanging out by one of the shrimping boats. The golden hour was creating some beautiful lighting that made for some really cool shots. I ended up just shooting the birds the whole time the sun was going down.Equipment
Nikon D3200 and the 55-200mm kit lens that came with the camera.Inspiration
I like taking shots of animals. I had been struggling to get good crisp sharp shots of animals however. This was the first time that I tried using back button focus and it worked very well! I got way better results and more sharp photos than I ever did with the using the traditional focus/shutter button.Editing
I used a very unconventional method to black out the back ground. Since I was not experienced with photoshop at all at the time I blacked out the background in lightroom by using the brush tool and turning the exposure and saturation all the way down. It was very tedious around all the small feathers but I got the job done! For the black and white I used Nik's Silver Effects Pro.In my camera bag
I'm normally shooting on a tripod because I'm usually doing landscapes. I recently purchased a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 which I love! And I always have my 3, 6, and 10 stop ND filters along with my remote shutter release.Feedback
You just got to go practice. Get out and shoot. And for heaven sakes learn how to use your camera in manual mode!
