Wood ducks are on of my favorite birds, and photographic muses. I have many images of side views of these handsome ducks, which is a great way to see their lovely plumage but often makes for a typical photo of this species. This was the one time I had the opportunity to get a head on shot as this drake briefly swam in my direction.
